My battery was getting drained. I couldn’t get it looked at over Christmas but on January 5th I got an automotive electrician to come to my house to diagnose the problem. It took him 3 hours but eventually he discovered that the screenwash pump had been leaking and it had made its way along a cable and into the motherboard in the glove compartment. This had shorted out one of the fuses, causing it not to shut down when the engine was turned off, hence draining the battery. So on 12th January my local mechanic was able to replace the screenwash pump. It took all day, as the pump is located under the wheel arch and required the removal of the wheel to access it. My car is now working well. |
