Often took a few tries before starter would engage, but it would immediately fire up once it did (i.e., it was not straining once it engaged). Battery tested fine and lights did not indicate an electrical problem. Seems to be a common problem with the 9th gen. Dealers usually quote several hundred to replace the starter, so I did it myself with aftermarket part. No issues since. Still need to tear down the old starter and see if I can figure out what was wrong with it. |
