Shifter linkage detached at the transmission. Dorman makes a $15 part to repair it, but it is a PITA to get to and the Dorman instructions suck. It took two tries to get it right. This is not the recently recalled shifter issue (that is in the console), but honestly they should recall for this as well. If you are not handy go to AutoZone and by the Dorman part and take it to your mechanic to install. If you take it to Ford they will want to replace the entire shift cable assembly and it is expensive! |
