Also, had another "knock" which the mechanic thought was the transfer case. He said that most shops just said it was the transmission and replaced the transmission and transfer case. However, we only did the transfer case and it was fine. NOTE: The mechanic was a friend with an authorized garage. The charge for all of the work was much less than if I had it done at Acura (maybe $5000 less).
