can be better |
| 2006 | 4dr SUV 253-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
One of the best for an SUV. 24 highway at 70 mph, 20 in town. |
| 2002 | 4dr SUV 240-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
Best economy in its class. For a 7 passenger vehicle, great hwy mileage. I averaged 22-25mpg strict hwy. 15-18mpg in town. |
| 2002 | 4dr SUV 240-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
Unbeatable for a 4WD vehicle of its capacity. |
| 2002 | 4dr SUV 240-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
I have averaged 25 mpg on the road, occasionally reaching 26-7. Ethanol is bad for it (as it is on all older cars). |

| 2012 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
Gas mileage is not good. The best I get is around 20 mpg, and use 91 octane as reccommended. I've tried mid-grade 89 octane with no noticable difference but for $1.00-$2.00 per tankful, I'm choosing to stick with what is reccommended. It would be nice to have a front wheel drive only version which would save on gas, but it's not offered. |
| 2008 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
Well, it's AWD, and it's a heavy SUV. As a result, fuel economy is not great. |
| 2008 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
I have yet to see 15 city/20 hwy, even with 12k on the odometer and not driving it hard. 13/18 is more like it. |
| 2008 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
Gas engine does not achieve excellent mileage diesels provide |
| 2008 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
Gets only 17-18 mpg. |
| 2007 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
I get only 16mpg even on highways |
| 2007 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
19Mpg is ok. Its not great. |
| 2007 | 4dr SUV 300-horsepower 3.7L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic AWD |
City driving is worse than advertised...15 to 16 mpg. But highway is 23-24 mpg. |
| 2006 | 4dr SUV 253-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
wish the fuel economy could have been addressed a bit more...not really complaining cos I drive an Odyssey too ..which has the same engine as the MDX..similar consumption... |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 265-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
MDX:lower mileage + premium fuel + Seven Seats Pilot: better milage + regular fuel +8 seats |
| 2005 | 4dr SUV 265-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
Would get a hybrid next - more MPG. |
| 2004 | 4dr SUV 265-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
I drive with an extreme light foot but still can only get 20 MPG highway. |
| 2003 | 4dr SUV 260-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD |
16 mph overall with premium gas. Honda Pilot with same drivetrain uses regular and get a little better mileage. |
