Why the 2006 BMW 3-Series?

Materials & workmanship

Materials and workmanship are solid - feel like metal backs the plastic - seats are firm (big guy), and I like that they support me. Very tight feeling car at 36K miles and 3 years old. Old BMWs seem to age very well when cared for.

Handling

Handles like the best sports car I ever drove, yet is a family sedan. Extremely balanced, and it drives how every car SHOULD drive. It almost has no personnality to it, but allows the driver to make it do what he wants. Extremely balanced.

Powertrain performance

Best engine I have EVER HAD. Smooth as silk all the way to redline. At redline, engine is still quiet with a slight muted exhaust growl. Refined power with constant torque curve throughout the rpm range, pulls hard. Fuel efficient - amazing!

Depreciation

BMW resale value is awesome. I had an 06 Sonata LX, but it depreciated like crazy, wlthough it was holding up well. Very disappointing to know your car drops so much in price. I bought CPO BMW, with low depreciation curve and extended warranty
