Reviewed: 2004 BMW 3-Series

4dr Sedan 184-horsepower 2.5L I6 5-speed manual AWD

Why the 2004 BMW 3-Series?

Handling

wonderful steering, great feedback, feels much lighter than it is

Powertrain performance

very powerful for a 2.5 liter, feels like a much bigger engine, loves to rev,

Safety & braking

plethora of airbags, some of the best feeling brakes I have experienced, very confidence inspiring

Driving position & visibility

great power seats, wonderful visibility

Exterior styling

Classic good looks, very understated, much nicer than the later Bangle-ized versions

Why Not the 2004 BMW 3-Series?

Reliability & durability

what BMW considers wear items, that is, bushings, cooling system parts, should have a much longer life than they do, I bought this car used @4 years old, replaced to date: entire cooling system, rear bushings, rear springs, alternator, sunroof tracks,

Dealer practices
