2dr Coupe 230-horsepower 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic RWD

Why the 2008 BMW 3-Series?

Handling

Impeccable, intuitive handling -particularly on mountain roads and other difficult terrain. Steady, unwavering travel in straight line freeway driving. Planted, assuring handling during full speed highway maneuvering (passing, etc.).

Powertrain performance

328 = not as powerful as 335, but is more than sufficient for a conservative driver. VERY smooth, quiet, perfectly responsive engine. Mulit-function (auto, sport auto, clutchless manual) 6spd auto is excellent. Sport mode = effortless merging/passing.

Ride smoothness

Smooth enough to insulate against harsh environmental/road conditions and keep cabin quiet. Not so insulated as to remove driver from road. Still exceptionally sportive with satisfying road feedback and steering and suspension firmness (w/ sport package).

Safety & braking

Excellent, firm, respoonsive brakes. Never too quick/harsh or too slow/harsh. Solid build and many built in safety features. Good crash test results. Excellent outward visibility all around.

Materials & workmanship

Innovative materials (in coupe = aluminum hoos, etc. and light composite materials front fenders, etc.) Solid, rigid, tightly constructed. High quliaty interior (leather package). Good exterior paint, but could be better.
