Why the 2012 BMW 3-Series?

Powertrain performance

Seen a lot of reviewers badmouthing the new twin-turb 2.0L engine. Get so tired of people resisting change that I feel sorry for the manufacturers. If they don't innovate they can't remain relevant. Yet innovation brings the naysayers out in droves. I have owned both the inline six-cylinder and the new twin-turbo and I have to say both are fantastic motors. The new twin-turbo four-cylinder develops more power than the six did, and is a blast to drive. Turbo-lag is almost negligible as the power comes online very early. I've had no issues with this motor at all, and with it mated to the buttery-smooth six-speed manual, this is the most fun car to drive I have ever owned, and I've owned them up to 500hp+.

Why Not the 2012 BMW 3-Series?

The 2.0T that BMW is using is not a twin-turbo. Rather it is atwin-scroll turbocharger with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection.
