Long story short after a full (almost four hour) diagnostic test of the wiring harness, the wiring harness passed with no issues. They realized the ambient temp sensor replacement process requires at least a 15 minute ride at 55 mph to sync up the sensor with the software! Dealer only charged me for the replacement part and software labor. Got a full wiring harness test st no cost! Labor rate is 136.00 per hour so that was nice to get for a car with 193K miles on it.
