Introduction

So far a very nice SUV and it has more than enough guts with the V6 . V8 is not needed unless you tow very heavy loads with it . The ride itself is on the firm side but I have the factory tow option with self leveling shocks . On the highway it can get 27 mpg at about 72 mph . Tow a 4000 lb boat with it with no issues . The only issue I see with it is pulling the boat out the transmission is so freewheeling you have to get on the gas quick to keep it from rolling back , it does have hill assist on the brakes but you have to make sure it is on if you tow . Adequate seat room in the front and second rows. I ordered the car and I did not get the third row . Has immense amount area behind the second row to carry stuff . Has two good sized areas to stow stuff where no one can see them . The weak area is probably the halogen projector headlights . Not good down the road . The high beams are mediocre . Not impressed with projector headlights. Just give me a quad bulb standard reflection setup . Also another problem issue is replacing either headlights or turn signals is a real PIA . Another problem is the rear racetrack taillights have had issues with water getting into them and burning the whole assembly out and it is like $1000 to get replaced . I myself so far have not seen this problem . The motor and transmission is exceptional so far and one of the smoothest I have driven. It has stop/start on it but has a override button you can push to deactivate but it has to be turned off every time you drive. I wouldnt have bought the car if it didnt have this button . For a base stereo it sounds exceptional as they use Alpine speakers in it .
Interior lighting which is LED is dimmer than they should be , though LEDs in the doors and cupholders is a nice touch for a base car . We will see as far as long term reliability .

2020 Dodge Durango Love Letter

Great looking SUV even though it has been around since 2011 in the same basic form though the headlight and tallights have been changed since then .
