Reviewed: 2003 Dodge Durango

4dr SUV 235-horsepower 4.7L V8 5-speed automatic

Why the 2003 Dodge Durango?

Powertrain performance

The 4.7 is a great engine with plenty of power and performance. 2003 was the first year for the five speed automatic and it has been flawless. Very smooth shifting - you really never notice it.

Reliability & durability

Our 2003 has had two minor recalls and two instances of vacuum hoses cracking, causing the "Check Engine" light to come on. Easy fixes and other than that, no problems at all.

Interior styling

Alot of plastic, but fit and finish are great. No sqeaks or rattles, and no cracking or warping. Seats are comfortable, all controls and gauges are right where they should be, and console is big with lots of cup holders and storage nooks.

Dealer practices

Our salesman was fantastic and the dealership has treated us well from the beginning. I know that this is a major complaint with many Chrysler dealers, but not this one.

Why Not the 2003 Dodge Durango?

Past personal experience

No previous personal experience with a Dodge or Chysler product

Dealer practices

Alot of bad dealers out there, but ours was great! No pressure, no games, just a willingness to sale a vehicle.
