2006 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4

I pull a small travel trailer and still manage 25MPG highway, with the trailer. Also the Escape 2.3L 5spd can be driven in traffic with absolute impunity and stay with any traffic while always maintaining mid-twenties fuel economy. see full Ford Escape review

Wife needed a car that could conquer snowy/icy roads/driveways for work. The AWD w/ 2.3L 4 cyl & 5-spd manual is rock solid, and gets great MPGs. see full Ford Escape review

2006 Ford Escape Powertrain: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2005 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4
5-speed manual FWD
The powertrain was flawless except for the clutch take-up in moist weather. The clutch chatter was unbearable and was ultimately why I traded it in. If I had the automatic, I probably would have kept the Escape. see full Ford Escape review
