Introduction

I purchased our 2017 Ford Fusion Energi in March 2018 with 15,000 miles. It now has close to 65,000, has had one warranty repair (power window), and one repair (brakes) at my expense. The car has been 100% dependable. I live in the Midwest snow belt and have dedicated winter tires for use from December to March.

2017 Ford Fusion Love Letter

Car is very quiet. Front windows and windshield are double pane, acoustic glass. Doors close tightly, wind noise is a minimum even after 5 years of use. No rust. Fuel economy is exceptional. Range 8 months of the year in Wisconsin is about 23 miles. During cold weather months this will drop to 15-18 miles. Our car has the optional 18" tires which provide a very stable, quiet ride. Because of winter snow and ice, we have a dedicated set of 17" (slightly narrower) winter tires mounted on their own rims. This provides outstanding handling, traction and braking during challenging winter weather.

One repair under warranty (window regulator) and one repair at owners expense (brakes at 63,000). Brake repairs were a result of salt and corossion during winter driving. LED headlights and taillights. No bulbs replaced either exterior or interior.

Fuel economy average for us is about 56 mpg. When driving at highway speeds, using mostly gas power, this drops to about 39 mpg. When in town driving less than 35 mph on electric only, this increases to well over 100 mpge. The more in town driving you do, the higher the overall fuel economy. Drive mostly 75 mph on expressways you can expect to be in the 30s.

Maintenance is very reasonable. Oil changes every 7500 miles (due to large portion of mileage on electric only). 12 volt batteery still tests good after 5 years. On second set of all season tires and final year of original winter tires.

Overall, completly satisfied with the 2017 Ford Fusion Energi. Would buy it again except Ford has discotinued production. A used 2016 to 2020 is still a good car to purchase and own.

Conclusion

Highly recommend the 2017 Ford Energi Titanium. Great fuel economy, reliable, quiet and low upkeep.
