Brake pedal has nice feel and stops with relative ease. Safety is spot on, with airbags surrounding the car. ABS and available TSC help too. Small touches such as a piece of non flammable fabric under the hood that will smother a fire in engine bay.
No recalls is a great thing. Have had no problems with any mechanical parts. If any small issue arose, Ford dealer would fix it easily. Nothing seems fragile in this car. When closing the door you get a nice solid sound, no rattles or anything.
Car handles nicely. Much better than a lot of other 4door midsized sedans that often feel floaty or have boat-like suspension feel. Steering is predictable and is well designed. Suspension is also nice and firm, but not rough. Great combination.
