The new GMC Acadia's best angle. I couldn't decide which of three shots was best... ...so I've included all three.
Shoulder over flared fenders makes for an interesting upper body side. The side window outline resembles that on the GMC Canyon pickip.
The Mazda is much rounder and more car-like. GMCs have squared-off wheel openings. Want something rounder? Get the Mazda, or a Buick.
Wrap-around rear window. Trucky styling. In the Denali, the aluminum and wood trim are both the real deal. Both appear fake.
Car-like Mazda interior feels sportier and less roomy thanks to tall center console. Your impression of the thick aluminum trim: rugged, or clunky?
The Acadia's controls are mostly easy to reach and operate. Rear HVAC can be managed through screen Comfortable driver seat, but I personally prefer the more contoured seat in the Mazda.
Much more comfortable second-row seats than in the original Acadia, but less shoulder room. More third-row legroom than in most direct competitors. Still marginal for adults.
Typical of the class, not much space for cargo behind the third row. Folding the third row more than triples the cargo volume, from 12.8 to 41.7 cubic feet.
Seat releases for the second row are conveniently located just inside the tailgate. Now 79 cubes. Has a 310-horsepower 24-valve DOHC V6 ever looked less special?
