4dr Sedan 235-horsepower 3.3L V6 5-speed shiftable automatic FWD

Why the 2006 Hyundai Sonata?

Fuel economy

i drive 30 miles to work. 15 of them are on back roads and 15 on the highway. i have averaged 27 mpg for 4 years.

Warranty, maintenance cost

i bought the car used so the warranty was diminished. i would not buy another one without the 100k warranty as they seem to break down over 80k miles

Reliability & durability

have used this as a commuting vehicle for over 3 years. had the timing belt tensioner done when i bought it (15k miles) has been VERY reliable up to 97k miles. now the flexplate is coming apart and no longer under warranty. 1000-1500 to replace

Quietness

was surprised at how well the car seemed "put together". when closing the doors it sounds like a well built car. road noise was low for the first 60k miles but now there is more wind noise. 75mph

Powertrain performance

surprised at the power in this sedan. fuel economy is very good, too. avg 27 mpg over 4 years
