TrueDelta Reviews the Reliability And Durability of the Lexus LS

Lexus LS Reliability And Durability: Pros
YearComment
2014 The Lexus LS 460 could be the only large luxury sedan people don't fear to own well out of warranty. My father has owned two, a 1991 for most of the 1990s and a 2009 in recent years. His experience has been typical, with no problems worth mentioning. Back in the 1980s, my father badly wanted a Jaguar XJ, and came close to buying one. But the horror stories scared him. TrueDelta has some data on Jaguars, mostly a few years of the smaller XF. These data suggest that, while the company's cars have gotten better (even since the first year of the XF, the 2009), they have a way to go before they're worry-free. The reliability of these car causes them to depreciate much more slowly than the average large luxury sedan, reducing the total cost of ownership. (See the discussion of pricing below.) full 2014 Lexus LS review
2019 One thing has remained constant since the Lexus LS was introduced as a 1990 model: many people buy an LS rather than a European competitor because they rightfully expect the Lexus to be more reliable, especially once the warranty has expired. No other large luxury sedan has earned a reputation for lasting hundreds of thousands of miles with relatively few problems. full 2019 Lexus LS review

Lexus reliability is outstanding. After owning Audi's and MB's, it was nice to never, I repeat never, have a repair. Routine mainenance and service is all this car has ever needed, except...(see below) full 2004 Lexus LS review
