| 2013 | There's plenty of legroom in the rear seat, but the same can be said of most compact crossovers. Based on the official specs the Mazda has 4.4 inches more total legroom than a VW Tiguan, but to me the Tiguan's rear seat seemed slightly roomier and more comfortable owing to a higher position. The rear seat reclines in the VW and some other compact crossovers, but not in the Mazda. The Escape's rear seat is considerably less spacious than the others. The rear seat is roomy enough for an average or above average adult, but the seats themselves could be better-- perhaps more sculpted and padded. Not nearly as comfortable as the front seats after an hour or two. I'm sure, however, that this is a common complaint on other smaller SUVs too, having tried them out at dealers, so it's not unique to Mazda. Front seat comfort is another subjective measurement. Our experience driving our 06 and 08 Accords has been that we feel little discomfort or back pain during long trips. We did have more such problems with our 05 and 06 rentals, although not severe. see full Toyota Camry review |

These seats seem to have been designed for someone 250 pounds. Wide, flat, and no proper support for your back. While this has a lumbar support for the driver, the poor seat design makes this uncomfortable for long trips. see full Toyota Camry review |
