At this time the recall for the bad clips which hold this assembly of plastic under body parts had not been announced. I took the vehicle to my local shop and they ordered new plastic under body parts and replaced them. Upon a dealer covered oil change DCH Toyota of North Brunswick advised that a recall had been issued, that the repair must be redone since the mounting clips had not yet been redesigned when the first repair was done and that I should submit my $700 receipt (from the initial non dealer repair) to Toyota for reimbursement. I did just that and had a check in 10 days from Toyota covering my entire cost. The front lower bumper cover assembly and mounting tabs was replaced free of charge, ultimately twice. |
