C $450
Battery replacement. Earlier in a month I have decided to clean up the battery which has to be replaced before the winter anyway. One of the bolts that holds the battery in place had snapped. The attempt to drill it out was not successful (shop had to use welding to fix it). So I took car to the shop to fix it and replace battery at the same time as the cost of servicing the battery is a one third of replacing. $250.

79000 mi AC light would blink when the car drove through very rainy conditions, and the AC would cut off for a few seconds. Supposedly was some sort of accessory belt clutch relay, but a new relay never solved the problem. In very cold temps (below 10-15 degrees F) the Airbag light would come on until the car got warmed up. Supposedly this indicated that there was a faulty airbag sensor, but Toyota never really fixed it. "Couldn't reproduce" was their usual diagnosis.

156000 mi My AC was blowing hot and cold. An internet search suggested that the most common reason for this is a broken temperature control knob cable. Sure enough that was my issue and was resolved for $0.
121000 mi AC/Heat would blow intermittent, and flip back between hot and cold. $600+ repair quoted to replace circuit board. Self repair performed by pulling off AC control knob and tightening a very loose nut. No intermittent problems since.
