253000 mi

US $2000
Secondary air Pump improperly replace first time. The repair in 2011 was before Toyota discovered the problem of water being sucked into the secondary air pump. Toyota made the repair with original parts from 2007, not the 2011 fix that was the subject of the hidden warranty. Dealing with the Toyota folks on the telephone is the most ugly experience I've ever had. They deny deny deny and make you feel very small. However as a professor of mechanical engineering I stuck to my guns and eventually Toyota covered the second repair. I showed them the part numbers that was used in the 2011 replacement versus the part numbers for a 2016 replacement.
