2019 Hyundai Veloster N Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The 275-horsepower Hyundai Veloster N (with Performance Package) has nearly as much power as a front-wheel-drive compact can practically make use of. (I say "nearly" because the Civic Type-R has 306 horsepower.) Even with the eLSD and high-performance summer tires, hard acceleration can yield wheel-hop, wheelspin, and mild torque steer... 2009 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member5756 Very smooth. dSG sometimes jerky at startup. Always starts in sub zero weather and I have 105.000 miles |

2014 Chevrolet Cruze Diesel Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh When questioned about the middling EPA city figure, Chevrolet suggests that the Cruze Diesel should be bought for its performance as much as its efficiency. In an odd turn, the diesel engine happens to have 13 more horsepower than the gas-powered Cruze, 151 vs. 138. This even though diesels don't... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Volkswagen Jetta |

Great car for long commute 2012 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member5961 140 TDI engine offers great amount of fun. The transmission shifts smoothly from first to sixth, all the while providing a very potent 240 lb/ft of torque. Very entertaining, doesn't disappoint until you reach higher speeds on the highway (until you downshift anyway). |
|
2004 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member5921 I appreciate the quickness of the turbocharged engine for entering highways and passing. |

2014 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member5917 Driving a diesel has been an interesting experience. It is slightly slower to respond vs a gasser, but it is wonderous on the highway when you need to pass or accelerate on an on ramp onto interstate. Accelerating from 50 to 80 is effortless for this car. |

First two weeks with a TDI 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons A member in New York, United States More a complaint with the DSG automatic, which downshifts too quickly when decelerating. I often find myself popping the car into neutral and rolling to a stop with the brake to avoid the jerking from the downshift. Not a big deal once you get used to it -- just be... |

2013 Honda Civic Si Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh I almost created a new category to capture the Honda Civic Si's dynamic strengths. The car has never been about brute acceleration. Power through revs rather than engine size or boost was the Honda way. The 2006-2011 Civic Si relied upon a high-strung 2.0-liter four-cylinder good for 197 horsepower at... Comparison vehicle: 2012 Volkswagen Jetta |
2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Unable to get to 60 mph in under ten seconds, the Acura ILX Hybrid is almost painfully slow. Scratch the almost. While I'd forgive such sluggish acceleration in a purely efficiency-oriented hybrid (e.g. the Prius), in a $35,295 Acura it's inexcusable. Especially when you realize that the Jetta Hybrid is... I thought VWs were solid cars 2006 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Black25 Pros:<br /> The power is smooth. The AC works great. Easy to work on. Comfortable to drive and pleasing to be inside the car. Materials are well fitted. |

2007 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member5736 Love the Tiptronic transmission. One of the main reasons I got the car. |

If you Like the looks, you will LOVE the CAR 2010 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons A member in Florida, United States I have been building race cars for awhile, and the wife had a "Sports Car" before this. It is not a rocket ship, but it will spin all the way through first ;-) The twin disc 6 speed auto is extreamly smooth, and works flawlessly. I have had the vehicle... |

2013 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member5646 The car feels solid, handles well, and is just plain fun (thanks to the torque!). I find the DSG transmission to be smooth and agile and Sport mode is great for passing maneuvers or quick starts in city driving. |

2013 Acura ILX 2.4L Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The Integra sold well partly because it was fun to drive. Two-pedal ILXs aren't. They're powered by either a 150-horsepower 2.0-liter engine or a 111-horsepower 1.5-liter hybrid. You'll be hard-pressed to find a car with a sticker price over $35,000 that's more sluggish than the latter. But if you're willing... Comparison vehicle: 2012 Volkswagen Jetta |

2012 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member5552 2.5L engine and 6-speed Tip-tronic transmission work well together. Engine has broad power band, which allows the transmission to deliver reasonable pickup in normal mode, and quite a lot of fun in "Sport" mode. Normal driving provides good fuel e |

2011 Volkswagen Jetta Pros and Cons Member217 The engine is very old-tech and has only 115 HP, however the 6 speed auto is thoroughly modern and makes the most of the low power and average torque. Acceleration is mediocre (0-60 11 sec), but totally adequate. Smooth and quiet beyond its price. |
