Materials & workmanship

Interior materials are excellent. Real wood trim, brushed aluminum accents and etc. make for a top quality experience. Fit and finish is excellent as well. Overall feel of the Touareg is very solid without rattles ans squeaks.

Safety & braking

Big and powerful Brembo brakes make for quick stops when needed. Lots of airbag features to protect the head and torso of occupants.

Controls and instruments

VW did a terrific job laying out the instruments! No blind spots caused by the steering wheel that you will find in other brands of SUV. Controls are right at hand and easy to adjust.

Audio & nav systems

I always thought the basic radio/cd should have been a 6 disc in dash arrangement instead of needing the optional CD changer in the back. Second there should have been an audio input for an MP3 player instead of relying on aftermarket hardware.
