Introduction

Ever since the release of the E92 335(previous generation) 3 series with its plethora of problems, I was very skeptical they would rebound to revive the 3 series sedan to life. Not only did they revive it but they've made it a beast! The new 335i M-sport edition is just amazing to live with. Having driven Lexus', Mitsubishi's, Cadillac's, and more recently an 2002 M3, the new 335i M-Sport blows all of them out of the water, including my old M3. It handles better, is faster, safer, and much more fun than my old M3, and it also holds its own on the track amongst many more powerful cars.

I do not regret trading in my M3 for this car for one minute. The exhaust notes of the 335 when in sports mode are deep with rumbles as if it were a V8, its suspension stiff, gear shifting extremely quick and precise and driving dynamics like a supercar. However you can turn all this down when in comfort and eco modes. The car just relaxes into a perfect daily driver with soft shocks, low exhaust noise, easy shifting, and smooth shifting making it a wolf in sheep's clothing. The 335i M-sport is great bang for the buck: it is a perfect daily driver but when unleashed, it becomes a true sports car with a 0-60 of 4.4 seconds and handling around the track that puts many sports cars to shame.

I wouldn't think twice about buying this sedan over many other brands such as a lifeless lexus. Yes, a lexus may last you 100 years, but who keeps a car that long anyway nowadays!? Reliability of any 3 series is just as good these days, plus they are far more fun to drive. The Cadillac CTS-V sedan is another great contender that I considered, but slightly more expensive and higher in consumption. Since I have this car, my consumption has been 9.5L/100kms in a mixed highway city setting (roughly 60% city, 40% highway).

Smooth lines and gorgeous design! It is a beauty all around.

Conclusion

If you enjoy a spirited drive from time to time, along with comfort in a daily driver, this is THE car to get for under $70k. It blows japanese sedans out of the water and performs as if it had much more horsepower. It is smooth enough for a daily driver and sporty enough to be taken to the track.
