Reviewed: 2006 BMW 3-Series

4dr Sedan 255-horsepower 3.0L I6 6-speed shiftable automatic RWD

Why the 2006 BMW 3-Series?

Handling

Excellent handling skills, like cornering on rails.

Safety & braking

Vehicle stops in the shortest distance I have seen.I have been teaching law enforcement driving for over 14 years. As for safety, the predecessor to this vehicle was totaled when I was stopped on the freeway and was hit at 65 mph. I was the only 1 not hurt

Powertrain performance

Rapid response when stepping on the throttle, from a stop or on the freeway

Reliability & durability

No issues except the battery, but in the extreme Arizona heat, it is to be expected.

Brand reputation & image

BMW has a solid reputation for designing and engineering a quaility vehicle.

Why Not the 2006 BMW 3-Series?

Rear seat room & comfort

A little tight for taller adults.

Price or payments

Pricey for us poor public servants.

Discounts & incentives

Difficult to negotiate big discounts. Was told by severall dealers, they flat out do not negotiate.

Cargo capacity

Cargo area is acceptable, but not a thing extra. I would never tow anything with this car, it might be capable, but who would buy one for towing.
