Why the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu?

Materials & workmanship

Tight seams inside and out. Small details hidden everywhere you look. Good mix of materials inside including non-bland color schemes, soft touch materials in many areas, chrome accents highlighting controls, great tactile feel.

Exterior styling

Strong character lines. Looks like a modern day version of a custom-built streamlined coupe. Wheels fit the wheelwells without being too much or too little. Chrome trim accents the lines perfectly. Especially attractive side profile.

Interior styling

Sweeping character lines divide two-toned dash, reminding one of Corvettes from the past. Great control placement. Sharp seats. Everything is pleasing to the eye.

Fuel economy

Surprisingly good highway fuel economy for a vehicle with this level of performance. Driven sedately, can achieve > 30 mpg highway.

Powertrain performance

Rated hp / torque numbers can be misleading- the car performs better than the power to weight would suggest. Yet, the gearing with the 6spd is set up well for allowing good fuel economy without discouraging spirited driving when called for.
