While only having only 4000 miles on my FX4, I also have a Ecoboost F150 Platinum with 10,000 miles on it and no problems to report so far. Neither has failed us at any time and the engines have zero oil consumption. Seen long trips with no problems too! full 2011 Ford F-150 review

4-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
Bought this 4 years ago at 44K miles and am the 3rd owner. I had to replace the 4WD solenoid ($25) and both 4WD IWEs ($150 for 2) shortly after purchase. These are common issues on the 4WD system from my research. Absolutely no problems since, at 93K. This continues to be an extremely dependable and capable truck. full 2006 Ford F-150 review

2013 4dr Crew Cab 5.5ft bed turbocharged 365hp 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic 4WD w/low range
The bi-xenon headlights developed a problem at around 30,000 miles. The high beams either wouldn't work or would stay in the high position. It seems to have worked itself out - but I don't have a lot of confidence in them. It's also worth mentioning that while the xenons are great, the difference between the high and low beams isn't very significant. full 2013 Ford F-150 review

I've been hearing an inconsistent low-speed hum (sounds like you're driving through snow). It goes away after 15-20 mph. Seems to happen most often in -20 to +10 temps. full 2013 Ford F-150 review

This particular engine, the 5.4L Triton engine, has problems with the cam phasers. I understand this is very common with all 5.4L Ford engines. For mine they began to fail at about 90k. They began knocking and when this happens they are also restricting the oil flow in the engine. This causes a sludge buildup in places. I took the truck to a local shop and had them replaced, it was fairly expensive. This worked until about 120k. At that point my engine froze up. The damage had already been done elsewhere in the engine when I had the cam phasers replaced. I decided to sell the truck rather than fix it. The new owner had the engine replaced with a new block that is supposed to have "new and improved" cam phasers. I learned later that I should have changed the oil much more frequently than the recommended interval. This probably would have prevented the sludge buildup. The mechanic that did the engine replacement for the new owner said that he has replaced many many of these engine for this very problem. full 2005 Ford F-150 review
