Introduction

Ford cars have really come a long way! More Americans need to check out the new 2013 Fusion.

Why the 2013 Ford Fusion?

Exterior styling

This is a beautiful car especially from the front! That alone is why I brought it. The majority of cars in the so called mid size family sedan class don't hold a candle to it. To me the exterior fit & finish is on par with its foreign competition.

Powertrain performance

The standard 2.5L 4cyl is more that powerful enough for me. This is the second car I have owned with this engine and have had no problem then or now. Engine is slightly noisy under medium to hard acceleration but is otherwise quiet at all speeds. The 6spd automatic shifts up & down much better then the previous 2.5L Fusion/Milan models. Very smooth.

Fuel economy

I have close to 3000 miles on this car and the last 2 gas fill ups have been 22.6 mpg which is slightly higher then the EPA city rating. Being that it is still winter & all my driving so far has been city driving I am very satisfied with the gas mileage.

Controls and instruments

The center dash heater controls are much easier to use compared to the previous Fusion/Milan models. I like the soft touch buttons.

Handling

Handing is very sporty for a car that is supposed to be a family sedan. The ride is smooth & controlled and very quiet at all speeds. I look forward to driving the car as much as possible.

Why Not the 2013 Ford Fusion?

Feature availability

I don't like that I can't get leather/heated seats & fog lamp package with the standard 2.5L engine.

Conclusion

I really love everything about this car. I've had people say "This is a Ford?" I would put this car up against any car in the mid size family sedan class. No problems and don't expect any!
