2dr Coupe 300-horsepower 4.6L V8 5-speed manual RWD

Why the 2007 Ford Mustang?

Powertrain performance

The engine, with 300 hp, is very strong, and well mannered when coupled with the 5 speed manual. I really enjoy driving again. And, I average 24 Mpg on the highway at 75 mph, which is where I do 98% of my driving.

Handling

The handling is not that of a sports car, but a GT, as it should be. The car rides, brakes and turns very well, instilling a feeling of confidence while driving. And the MPG, according to the on board computer has been 24.4 avg. on the Interstate.

Feature availability

I really liked the two tone interior, in Black and Dove, which was part of the California Special package, as well as the Shaker 500 stereo with Sirius Sat radio. The heated power seats are very nice in the South Dakota winters. 100 dash lighting options.

Materials & workmanship

I have driven the car over 10200 miles since Feb 2007, and have had no problems, squeeks, or rattles. It is very well built. The leather on the seating surfaces is perforated and appears it will last. The plastic on the dash could be better executed.

Why Not the 2007 Ford Mustang?

Insurance cost

I am really not concerned with depreciation, but my insurance is dinging me for having the 300 hp, although I have been with them for 25 years, without a ticket or accident. My insurance is double that of our Jeep Grand Cherokee V8.
