Ford Taurus Real Gas Mileage: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2012 4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Surprisingly the fuel economy seems to have hained 1.5 mpg or so. Naturally, I am appreciative.
2011 4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.5L V6
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
With 28 to 30 mpg on the highway with a vacation load of luggage, food and other equipment she takes to the road with ease and comfort I never had in any car I previously owned. Mileage is close to the intermediate size Buick I used to drive but this car is much more comfortable and worth the mileage difference.

Good mileage for a large car. 29 to 32 Highway.
2005 4dr Sedan 153-horsepower 3.0L V6

For a Large Car 30mpg on a 12 hour road trip is outstanding.
2004 4dr Sedan 201-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic FWD
Seems like they should get respectable MPG.
2000 4dr Sedan 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic FWD
Fuel economy was disappointing especially in winter; averaged < 19 MPG in mostly city driving. Highway, sometimes got mid 20's.

My average MPG is about 24 right now. It does better on the highway and not as well around town. I do not drive it hard. I am using (per Ford) Regular 87 in it and it seems fine. I ran one tank of 93 Premium and did not notice a difference in performance or mileage.
2005 4dr Wagon 153-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic FWD
Only getting about 4-500 km per tank of gas
2002 4dr Wagon 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic FWD
22 or 23 MPG at best on the highway is mediocre but not terrible given the size and 24V V6.
