25600 mi US $69 Drivers door window fell down inside the door. Hyundai considered this an 'adjustment' vice a 'repair' as a screw came loose vice something breaking so it was not covered under the bumper-to-bumper warranty. Not a very happy camper about this one.
83450   Power steering hose ruptured. Cost of repair doesn't include cost of towing to my local dealer.
115000   Loud 'clunking' and other noises coming from front suspension. Dealer replaced both front lower control arms and ball joints. Owner noticed transmission fluid leak under car. Dealer diagnosed that transmission fluid cooler was leaking and required replacement. Dealer noted leakage from engine oil pan. Indicated that pan was rusting through not leaking from the gasket. This model year had significant recall for underbody rust. Oil pan required replacement.
129000   Pre-sale inspection indicated that passenger size front brake caliper was seized causing pads to drag on rotor and wear abnormally. Both front calipers and brake pads were replaced. Biggest issue I've had with this Santa Fe is corrosion
Hyundai Santa Fe in Texas, United States
Jan 2011 - Jul 2012
177000 mi US $1350 leak inside the carburator unit Blower motor shorted out Carburetor buildup causes auto stop when filling up at pump
177000   AC compressor went out, replaced compressor and major connections to AC unit, gave a full cleaning. The hoses to the new compressor that were not replaced sprung a leak within 2 weeks; repair shop did not claim fault; owner paid in full. Sportsshifter went out while going through a car wash. Car would not shift gears automatically and would never go into 4th or drive. TSB found that eliminated liability to the car wash. Repair shop said car is undrivable without the part
190000   Blower replaced
