2016 Hyundai Sonata Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Great mid-size hybrid car! by jhinsc

I have the Sonata Hybrid Limited with Advanced Package. I love this hybrid system over the Toyota systems because of the 6-sp auto vs CVT. The engine never whines when I need more power, and it seems programed to drive in Electric mode more often. I also get better mileage than I did in my Passat TDI or my previous car to that, a Prius v5. It's very quiet, very roomy especially in the back seat, and the flat trunk allows me to use all the space to the back seat versus the odd-shaped trunk in the Camry/Accord/Fusion hybrids. This hybrid vehicle is flying under the radar for most people and they don't realize what they're missing. I know, I've driven all of them out there before choosing to buy one.I can average almost 44mpg without modifying mydriving style.
The Sonata Hybrid provides great sightlines, and with the back-up camera, blind-spot monitor, and rear radar to detect objects when backing out of a parking spot, I'm never have to worry about having a blind spot under most driving conditions. It's not the prettiest car, but it is sleekly styled and aerodynamic.
Pros - great mileage, great warranty, and great value for what you get.
Cons - not the most exciting car to drive, but I enjoy driving it. Seats are not as comfortable compared to the VW Passat, but better than any Toyota vehicle.
