4dr Sedan 160-horsepower 2.3L I4 5-speed automatic FWD

Why the 2008 Mercury Milan?

Fuel economy

MPG up to 34 hwy, no less than 25 in heavy traffic. 17 gal tank gives you around 500 mile range between gas stations.

Reliability & durability

Mazda reliability with Mercury depreciation makes this the used car to buy. I have had no problems so far.

Ride smoothness

Car drives well. Stable handling is fun on open winding country roads. Braking is confident.. 3 kids in back with 2 car seats

Audio & nav systems

Stock stereo sounds great. Very strong bass, Bjork can knock the wind out of you. Bluetooth is very useful. Voice recognition is surprisingly accurate. USB charges and accesses media files. Additional MP3 jack.

Price or payments

New, this car depreciated like a rock, but is holding well. I bought it used w/low miles and NADA has not changed much in 2 years. Maybe I just got a good deal. With a few miles on this car, you get a great value for reasonable cost

Why Not the 2008 Mercury Milan?

Exterior styling

Judge for yourself, Not exciting, not bad. Nice rims/wheels. LED taillights are nice. Front end, is less exciting to me.

Brand reputation & image

Ford is not known for beating the Japanese in reliability. But at the time I bought this the Milan was rated more trouble free than Camry by consumer reports. I have only added gas and oil. It runs the same at 54K as 18K.
