2014 Nissan Rogue Pros and Cons Member6053 2.5 at 170 HP and CVT is really quite strong even for a beast this size. It is usually reviewed as being under-powered, but I disagree strongly. If this is inadequate for you, you must really like to buy gasoline for monster engines. |

When driven for maximum fuel economy, the engine pulls smoothly (if... Comparison vehicle: 2014 Subaru Forester |

Excellent compact SUV 2012 Nissan Rogue Pros and Cons Member2102 I love the CVT - very smooth, good power, and great fuel economy. Power feels a bit soft at low speeds, but the engine is willing to rev for passing. No problems passing on interstates - even up mountains with 4 people on board. The engine can get a bit... |

It met our needs 2012 Nissan Rogue Pros and Cons Member5663 Some people won't like the CVT transmission, but this car does drive smooth and has enough power to get out of its own way. It won't win a race, but will keep you up with traffic. |

2010 Nissan Rogue Pros and Cons Member2104 engine is noisier and rough sounding than i expected. CVT always takes getting used to as it keeps revs at same level as you accelerate. |

2011 Nissan Rogue Pros and Cons Member4697 Found the CVT performed well in acceleration from start, but not as well when accelerating at highway speeds (in passing, for example). |
|
2008 Nissan Rogue Pros and Cons Member4657 I feel sometimes there is a problem with the transmission because of the way it performs sometimes has clunking noises when accelerating or taking foot off accelerator |

2009 Nissan Rogue Pros and Cons A member in New York, United States The CVT is a fascinating concept, and is "fun" to drive. Normal automatic transmissions are very reliable, but EXPENSIVE when they need repair. My hope is that a CVT will be more reliable over time, as it has like 10% of the moving parts. |
