Why the 2009 Nissan Versa?

Exterior styling

I have a bright silver Versa hatchback and love the way it looks!

Fuel economy

I've never measured it, but the mileage seems to be very good.

Cargo capacity

Since it's a hatchback there's quite a lot of storage. I've had a 50" LCD TV (plus box) in it with no problems. Even an 8' long 2x4 board and was able to shut the hatch.

Reliability & durability

So far (47k miles) have had no engine trouble at all.  I bought a Nissan because of high reliability ratings.  We'll see.

Why Not the 2009 Nissan Versa?

Interior storage compartments

The cup holders and cubbys are ok, but not placed very well. You have to reach around the gear shifter to get to the main cup holders. No big deal, but just sayin'.

Quietness

The car is fairly quiet while driving, but when the AC compressor cycles on and off you can definitely hear it. Also at highway speeds the motor is fairly loud.

Materials & workmanship

After about 3 years our dashboard temperature panel became horribly disfigured and ugly. I found out that other Versa owners had the same problem. After appealing to the dealer manager they replaced it under the 3 year warranty. But others had to pay about $500 for this repair. It's only cosmetic, but... just sayin. Also, some of the rubber moulding around the driver side door kept coming loose and hanging down a little bit. No big deal, I just glued it back with some elmers glue and it has held for a couple years.
