Why the 2003 Pontiac Vibe?

Exterior styling

The plastic lowers half of the car is really easy to keep clean and wears very well. Also the roof rack is handy is nice if your into outdoors stuff or haul anything. I have never used it though.

Interior styling

The ergonomics are great. Very easy to get in and just drive. The plastic seems to be wearing very well and the silver painted pieces still look brand new. The seats are also holding up nicely. Get a mat for the rear too, stuff tends to slide without one.

Fuel economy

29 mpg... and I cane the poor thing frequently. It would probably do a little better if I drove it sensibly.

Reliability & durability

Other then normal maintenance, I have repaired nothing. Gas, oil changes, one belt, 2 batteries, 3 sets of tires, and two front brake jobs over 115k and 6 years.

Why Not the 2003 Pontiac Vibe?

Powertrain performance

This car is slow. Which is why I cane it like a mule, which is why it gets worse mileage then it could. It will get you from A-B without issue, but its just not exciting. Just make sure you ok with that and your golden.

Audio & nav systems

The stock audio system was bad. New head unit and four new speakers solved that issue. I like my music, so I needed to upgrade the stereo. On the upside, stereo installation and door panel removal is EASY.

Insurance cost

I just started looking for a new car, and I have been checking insurance prices. So far my car has been higher then nearly every other car I have looked at. Seems kinda odd to me. I have Allstate (can I say that?).
