Toyotas are known for reliability and durability; this car replaced a 14-year-old Toyota with 180,000 miles (and going strong). I bought this Matrix with 73,000 miles, and expect to get over 200,000 out of it.
Have never gotten less than 28 MPG, even when driving hard and in mountains. Usually get between 30 and 31 in the rolling country where I live. Have gotten over 34.
In the summer of 2007, I bought this car from a Lincoln-Mercury dealership that had taken it in trade - for $8,995. The car was (and still is) in excellent condition.
Toyotas are well-known to be reliable and durable.
The station-wagon styling and fold-down seats permit me to carry 8-foot lumber. I installed a Draw-Tite hitch, and the car is rated to pull 1,500 pounds - although I will never pull more than half that amount.
