5-speed shiftable automatic RWD		 I average about 20 miles per gallon on premium fuel - with a mix of street and highway driving. I typically get 16 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. Some of this is attributable to the 5 speed transmission on the car, which favors acceleration to economy. 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD		 I purchased this vehicle in April of 2012,new with less than 25 miles showing. My wife drives this car to work each day, round trip is approx 30 miles. She is averaging 17 mpg, but on trips I drive and can average 22-23 mpg. I usually cruise the interstate at 70-80 mph. and I do use the cruise control. The mpg will vary but I have seen a high of 25 and a low of 21. Overall very pleased with the ride and comfort, when traveling there are usually 3 adults and luggage. see full GMC Acadia review
