Cam position sensor and crank position sensor were severely worn and giving false position data to the computer. The false reads were causing the engine to rapidly retard and advance timing more than 15 degrees from TDC. Car would not run. Engine bay was making loud rattling/grinding noise when accelerating that could be felt in the accelerator and seat, especially when taking off from a stop. Replaced all 3 motor mounts and the transmission mount -- all severely aged/damaged.
