Plugged rain drainage openings in sunroof area and cowl (base of windshield) area were cleaned out. It was believed that clogging of these drainage openings was leading to water intrusion into passenger compartment during heavy rain. After our most recent rain, the passenger side footwell carpeting was soaked again, so I consider the "repair" completely UNSUCCCESSFUL.

Recently, whenever we've had significant rain, I found the front passenger seat footwell carpeting soaked. The dealer's previous attempt to solve the problem, by cleaning out the sunroof and cowl drains, did nothing to alleviate the problem. The independent shop had a technician who had seen this problem before and suspected a leak in the drain tube running from the right front corner of the sunroof and down the right A-pillar. The tech had to remove the headliner to get at the drain tube. He found an separated joint in the tube and clamped the joint to secure it. This has apparently solved the problem.

HID headlight lenses had become quite cloudy. I had a "headlight restoration" done with a coupon special. Shop (Pep Boys) polished the lenses and applied some sort of protectant. The lenses don't look as good as new but ARE vastly clearer than they were before the restoration job.

All lower door trims rusted on the inside, thus creating big, ugly gap at the top of each of them. Metal part behind plastic that engages with the door pins rusted, swelling created buy rust flakes caused unsightly gap. I bought used trim pieces, different color from eBay, had them repainted and fitted on my car. They are from little newer model and it seams Audi has slightly changed this design, hopefully for the better. New replacement parts, had I bought it from Audi dealer were $150 each (x4) plus you have to paint them (primed only). It is ridiculous what these companies do to us. Clearly flawed design that customer has to deal with as soon as car is out of warranty.
19000 mi Exterior chrome trim surrounding windows and trunk lid replaced under warranty due to waterspot-like corrosion. Overhead interior light panel replaced under warranty due to broken retaining clips, wouldn't stay in place.
37000 mi Replaced drivers interior door panel because the vinyl material CRACKED by the door handle. Covered reluctantly under warranty by AUDI. Clearly a manufacturers defect in the trim panel -- the stresses cracked it from opening and closing the door.
40000 mi Moonroof leak. Fixed for free under recall notice.
85700 mi Sunroof switch quit functioning and was freewheeling. Known TSB available for the problem and switched replaced at no cost.
87000 mi spring kit for sunshade in sunroof replace after springs had fallen out.
