2011 Toyota Prius 4dr Hatch

98-horsepower 1.8L I4 Hybrid CVT FWD

21800 mi Center console rattling Glove box damper fell off Underhood weatherstrip torn
24000 mi Driver's door creaking noise. Underhood weatherstrip replaced
35300 mi Loud creak noise when opening driver's front door. "A-pillar" reinforcement bracket for door check was reformed to eliminate creak Tailgate interior panel fell off - reattached Center console rattling - dealer advised to compare to another car? There's clearly a lot of "value engineering" that has taken place with the Gen III Prius; it's a symphony of interior rattling plastic that means I'll never ride alone. Dent in passenger's side rear quarter removed - (Dented by dealer)
120000 mi

US $766
Driver side front door panel replaced due to failed heat stake welds holding armrest
70300 mi

US $40
Rear bumper sagging. I bought the brackets and replaced.
70500 mi

US $90
Rubber seal of both left outer window trim strips disintegrated, turning into sticky, gummy messes. I replaced both with new OE ones. I HOPE they're made of improved material capable of withstanding sunshine! These are NOT purely cosmetic, as they're supposed to keep rain and trash out of the door.
93700 mi

US $2
Tie up sagging right end of rear bumper cover. The problem is that the corner of the rear bumper cover is not securely attached where it wraps around the side of the car. On both sides, I patched it by drilling a hole in the bottom edge of the cover near the corner, putting an eyebolt with nut through the hole, and using kevlar string to tie the eyebolt up to the rear end of the horizontal plastic strip. (First I tried other types of cord, but they always stretched under the constant tension, allowing the bumper cover to sag again. Wire might function ok, but might rust or rattle.) I've read on Priuschat.com of other owners trying other methods, some involving glue, to keep their droopy bumper cover in place. My method works and is inexpensive, but is tedious to adjust.
96409 mi Unclog water drain passage through right taillight, which caused leak into interior
109400 mi

US $90
Replace both deteriorated window strip seal strips on right side
117313 mi

US $1
Tie up sagging left end of rear bumper cover
89000 mi

US $30
Replaced special fastener in center brake light lens. (Missing?) Replaced passenger side map light lens cover (tabs that hold it in place were broken)
89000 mi

US $25
Replaced lens cover for map lights. The tab on the lens that "snaps" it in place was broken off. (It was in the glove box when I bought the car).
12000 mi The passenger side sunvisor started to droop down and would bounce around while driving. The dealer reattached the sunvisor and now everything is OK. It seems the visor is only mounted to the headliner and not to a metal surface. The dealer was doing the free 5000 mile tire rotation service and while reinstalling the wheel covers, they cracked the wheel cover. They did not report this to me and I had to call them and speak to the service manager to get it replaced.
48000 mi Instructions for flat-tire-jack use unclear; physical layout confusing. Ended up using jack on lower rear body panel rather than lift-point. Result: $145 damage to the panel and rock-chip catcher in wheel well
32000 mi Passenger side mirror paint started to crack.
16500 mi

US $75
Mirror cover fell off. Bad service at the dealer. A bit chinsy mirror cover to fall off on highway I-85. Sadly did not find the cover.
8680 mi driver's door rattling noise, spoiler rattling noise
21040 mi Spoiler rattling noises-Partially fixed.  Center console cover noises-Awaiting parts.
34100 mi Solved: 1. Rear boot rattles noises - fixed. 2. Fume smell when speeding. Fixed. Sealed the car to prevent fume from coming in, need 3 days. 3. Rear boot water leaking in from spoiler - fixed.
36500 mi Armrest on driver door was falling into door. Replaced complete door trim.
5000 mi Noise coming from below the shift stick. The problem is located near a seam where the plastic meets. When this area is pressed the noise stops. Still makes noise after 2 visits. Same as previous problem. Was corrected this time.
