17000 mi Car became hard to shift at high rpms and then 5th started grinding badly. MT82 transmission was completely replaced. To prevent the problem in the future I had a Ford Racing billet short shifter installed. 
61097 mi C/S transmission grinds when shifting in 5th gear. Found 2nd gear and 5th gear damage, synchros damage, bearing damage present as well. Replaced transmission assembly.
