9000 mi Experiencing severe grinding when transferring to both 4WD High and 4WD Low ranges, driver information screen reporting a 4WD fault, see dealer. Diagnosed that transfer case shift motor was not delivering the specified torque. Motor replaced, and problem remedied at this point.
