505 mi driving vehicle and errors appeared on Dash. Auto headlights fault and windshield wiper fault. Auto headlights defaulted to ON even though it was daylight. Wipers would not work regardless of what I selected on the stalk. This first happened on Saturday June 3rd. After half an hour everything was fine. Sunday june 4th it occurred again. Brought to dealership on Wednesday June 7th. Was there for just over an hour and was told that no faults were found. Only fault they encountered was an old one for low battery and was due to the vehicle having been on the showroom for so long. was told that may have been the cause. Drove home with no issues. upon starting the vehicle in the afternoon the errors came up again. Drove directly to the dealership and left the car running and told service writers. the confirmed the errors were appearing. Took car into shop for almost two hours before putting me in a loaner saying they were going to need more time to diagnose. Vehicle displayed faults on the MFD screen. Auto headlight fault and wiper fault. Wipers were inoperable. Lights in AUTO mode would automatically turn on regardless of what time of day/brightness/sunshine. Problem was resolved. Connector Pin 3 in Light sensor was faulty. Replaced.
1990 mi Radio shut off while driving. Restart did not work. Screen black and no audio. Nav system disabled including compass in the Dashboard as well. Service replaced Module 5F and also updated radio software to version 753. Version 753 also has a known defect. Version 755 is the latest and greatest and supposedly fixes this issue. Problem has not returned as of yet so I haven't gone back to get the software updated.

5000 mi Adaptive headlights failed. Replaced assembly. Failed again.
11000 mi This is a very small repair but I thought that VW owners would be interested - our key battery died at 8 months of ownership. It was replaced under warranty no problem - it just seemed odd that the key battery died so quickly. The dealer indicated this was a common problem, so VW may have just got a bunch of old batteries in their key fobs.
65000 mi

US $250
Battery failed at 4 years. Replaced with new battery.

8000 mi

US $10
Key battery died after less than one year and under 8000 miles. Easy to fix myself but replacement was much earlier than I would have expected. Probably because of the keyless entry system.
14000 mi

US $6
Replaced key battery again. Lasts for about one year.
27000 mi

US $150
Battery dead in less than 4 years of ownership from new.
15000 mi Window regulator needed replacement, under warranty.
8100 mi Blind spot warning indicators on exterior mirrors stopped working. Was easily resolved with a software flash. Apparently if something blocks the blind spot sensors in the bumper area for a prolong period of time the system shuts down. In my case, the cause was apparently heavy snow. The good news it that it was a minor problem that was easily fixed. Not so good news was that it was a nuisance to have to take time to go the dealer. I have not idea how common this is with VW/Audi product or other vehicles. But given how common snow is in many parts of the world, this shouldn't happen or there should be an easy DIY reset for the BS monitors.
14100 mi Battery died as I left it on too long while cleaning it. Jump started it and BU cam, radio, and a few other electrical items didn't work. Took to dealer, they set it back to original settings and that did the trick

3500 mi rear traffic sensors not working
