Replaced undersized doughnut spare wheel with full sized wheel and tire. Purchased wheel on EBay and tire locally. Wheel well accommodated full size with room to spare. Doughnut spares are a nuisance, especially since I purchased the most expensive version of this VW Sportwagen (SEL). Discovered scissors jack defective when attempting to change flat tire and replace with "doughnut" undersized spare. The screw on the jack was bent. I had to borrow a friends to install the spare donut wheel. Ordered new jack from Amazon.
