The transmission in this car has never been right…it slips horribly when cold and is very slow shifting when warmed up. I read there was a programming upgrade available but my dealer ( who I feel is pretty good ) said no…so I’m living with it. I had the exact same Edge as my previous car and had zero issues |

turbocharged 245hp 2.0L I4 8-speed shiftable automatic FWD
39000 mi | Reprogram shift strategy to fix hard downshifts and light throttle surging |
46000 mi | Dealer test drove car and after many days, they determined that the torque converter is defective. Parts are on order and the car is scheduled to go back in early July for replacement of the torque converter, and to inspect/replace some other internal parts. The dealer also reported that the transmission had been leaking slightly, at the electrical connector on the top of the transmission. So, the transmission has been running with low fluid level for some time - not sure what they will do about that - hoping that they don't put a new torque converter in a transmission that has excess wear from the low fluid level! We will see what they do. |
