2003 Ford Focus Pros and Cons A member in South Africa It is very heavy on fuel. Around 11.5l/100km in town and 7.0 to 8.0l/100km on the open road. |
2005 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member2442 Poor in town and highway. Extremely disappointed. I would not mind the 20mpg if this was translated into 0-60 times of 6 seconds - but it is not. I have no idea where the fuel goes - it is certainly not converted into power. |
2007 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member2379 Very reasonable fuel economy for a 4-dr car. |

2008 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member1800 Great MPG. Window sticker said 24-35, I average way better. My normal driving is 75/25 city/hwy and I get about 30-32mpg - hwy/interstate only, I can push over 37mpg running at 70-71mph! Best tank so far was 42.2 miles per gallon!! |

2005 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member146 Great balance of power and fuel economy. Average approximately 30 MPG in around town driving or high speed 70 mph plus Interstate cruising. At 55 MPH will deliver 38 MPG on long trips. Very consistent fuel economy after 55,000 miles. |
2008 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member1743 On my daily 250 round trip commute I average around 33MPG. There are new vehicles that get better but they usually come with higher price tags which offset any fuel savings. |
2002 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member1522 fairly good |
2006 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Member62 My Focus consistantly returns 28-31 MPG per gallon mixed driving conditions and much higher on highway trips. |

Ford Focus SVT Review (vs. Mazda Protege5) 2003 Ford Focus Pros and Cons Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh I wasn't personally very focused on fuel economy, but the SVT wasn't very fuel efficient for a fairly light car with a normally-aspirated 2.0-liter engine. The original EPA ratings were 21 mpg city, 25 mpg highway. Using the 2008+ adjustments, they'd be 18/23 if the car was available today. |
2003 Mazda Protege5 2003 Mazda Protege Pros and Cons Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Suburban fuel economy is acceptable, at nearly 30 mpg. But on the highway, with the engine spinning well over 3,000 rpm, fuel economy also struggles to crack 30. Many much larger, much more powerful cars achieve better highway fuel economy. Some owners have fitted the fifth gear from the related... Comparison vehicle: 2003 Ford Focus |
