I am using (per Ford) Regular 87 in it and it seems fine. I ran one tank of 93 Premium and did not notice a difference in performance or mileage. see full Ford Taurus review
2008	4dr Sedan 263-horsepower 3.5L V6 6-speed automatic FWD	It's got a 20 gallon tank and I basically never see 400 miles on the trip counter. 20mpg in mixed use (almost 40 mile round trip commute) has been something to get used to after living with a 4-cylinderMazda 6. In addition, when I hit 1/4 tank on the gas gauge, the range computer plummets to the point that I start planning a fuel stop within 50 miles of the 1/4 tank mark. Although the Ford Ranger has an excellent and proven track record for reliability and the new vehicle pricing was very competitive, I could have purchased a larger more expensive truck with a V8 and more features and by this time I'm sure that I could have broken even if you consider how much the Ranger has cost me in additional fuel costs. Although I'm confident that this little Ranger will last for years, I'm afraid that I will be trading it earlier than I would have wanted to find something that is not such a gas guzzler. see full Ford Ranger review
