Reviewed: 2008 GMC Acadia

4dr SUV 275-horsepower 3.6L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD

Why the 2008 GMC Acadia?

Exterior styling

Slightly conservative styling, but still has an SUV look/stance. Definitely prefer the styling to any minivan or even the Buick Enclave.

Rear seat room & comfort

Since this is our family hauler, it needed to accommodate 5 people, with enough space between 3 kids to keep long trips bearable. Adults can sit comfortably in the third row.

Ride smoothness

Not quite "car-like", but not nearly as abrupt as the Tahoe.

Why Not the 2008 GMC Acadia?

Powertrain performance

The 6 cylinder engine and transmission combination leave this 5000 lb. vehicle sometimes feeling a little sluggish. You have to mash the accelerator to force a down shift. It does respond, but it requires a little more effort than it should.
